And some more bits and pieces...

Feeder flights

Our departure for the North Pole is scheduled to allow for European and domestic connecting flights. However, we do want to make you aware of the fact that no guarantee can be given to board our polar flight if your connecting flight arrives late. Our check-in counters will close 90 minutes prior to departure. So please do leave some extra time for your connections to and from Dusseldorf, enjoy an evening out the night before!

Weather conditions

In any travel to polar regions, and not only there, weather is an important and sometimes unpredictable factor. North of the polar circle, snow storms are a possibility even in July. Our flight crew will receive weather forecasts before the flight and updates throughout and plan our route accordingly. This is why we cannot give you a guarantee that we will fly the exact route described above. The same applies to the weather en route. We cannot, and nobody can, give a guarantee for great weather throughout the flight. As our trip of more than 9.000 km takes us through a number of climatic zones, yes the weather will probably change as we fly and not necessarily be bright throughout our trip.

Check-in requirements and important documents

To make sure that we take off on time, everyone is required to arrive at check-in no later than 90 minutes prior to the  departure time indicated on his booking confirmation. Passengers who present themselves after check-in has closed will not be allowed to board the flight and will forfeit their seat - no refund will be given.

We require all passengers to provide a valid passport at check-in.

In return, another important document will be given to you: After the flight all participants will receive a Polar Flight certificate from us.

Seat allocation
For our first flight on 1 May 2007, seats are allocated at check-in.

For our second flight on 1 September 2007, seats will be allocated in advance. Please mention your preferred seat within the category chosen, and you might receive an allocation for your preference (subject to availability).

Who can or cannot take part in the flight?

Our polar flights are of course open for anybody to join. However, for babies and small children an 11-hour flight will mean more physical and mental stress than for you, as no unlimited movement is possible. In the case of physical handicaps, please let us know when making your reservation so that we can try to accomodate you in the best possible way.
